Product Description

3W RGB High Power LED Diode with Integrated PMMA Narrow Beam Lens on 20mm Star PCB

Product Overview

This emitter pairs a 45mil Epistar three-in-one RGB die with a pre-assembled PMMA narrow-angle lens, mounted on a 20mm aluminum star PCB. The lens concentrates the die output into a controlled 60 degree spot instead of a diffuse wash, so aiming, cut-off and glare behaviour can be planned on the fixture drawing rather than corrected afterwards with secondary optics. The module is built for integration work: standard 20mm star footprint, pre-tinned pads and a flat lens face that suits front bezel mounting. Every piece is binned by dominant wavelength, luminous flux and forward voltage before assembly, which keeps colour point and drive behaviour consistent between batches so a repeat order does not require re-profiling the driver.

Key Features

  • Optics integrated at source: the lens is bonded during assembly, so beam angle and centring tolerances stay inside one component rather than depending on the fitter's secondary lens alignment.
  • Low current density die: the 45mil chip area spreads drive current across a larger junction, which is what allows stable chromaticity and slower lumen depreciation in continuous duty fixtures.
  • Three channels, one footprint: red, green and blue dies share a single package and star, so full colour mixing is achieved on a 20mm board without stacking separate emitters.
  • Assembly-ready interface: pre-tinned pads, flat aluminum substrate and a lens face that tolerates front bezel contact simplify reflow-free hand assembly and field replacement.
  • Binned for repeatability: wavelength, flux and voltage bins are recorded per lot, so a follow-up order can be matched to the same colour point and drive characteristics.

Quality Control

Incoming dies are verified for wavelength and flux before assembly. Finished modules are sampled each lot for forward voltage, dominant wavelength, luminous flux and beam angle, and the results are traced by lot number. Non-conforming pieces are screened out before packing, and a retained sample from each lot is kept for twelve months so any field claim can be compared against the original build.

FAQ

1. Which driver should I pair with this module?

Use a three-channel constant-current driver with independent setting for each colour, plus PWM input if you need dimming and colour mixing. Set the red channel lower in voltage and higher in current than green and blue, matching the specification table. Sharing one current setting across all three channels will overdrive green and blue.

2. Can the beam angle or the lens be changed?

Yes. The same emitter is available with 25, 45 and 90 degree PMMA lenses, and the star PCB can be supplied in black or white finish. Custom lens and board combinations are treated as a build-to-order item with a 1,000 pcs minimum per configuration.

3. How do you keep colour consistent between orders?

Each lot is sorted into 5nm wavelength bins, two flux bins per colour channel and 0.2V voltage bins. The bin code is printed on the tray label and recorded against your order, so a repeat purchase can be pulled from the same or the nearest adjacent bin instead of an unverified production lot.

4. Do you support OEM branding and custom packaging?

Yes. Laser marking on the star PCB, private-label trays and printed cartons are available from 1,000 pcs per order, with artwork approval before production. Barcode and SKU labelling can follow your own numbering scheme.

5. How to deal with the faulty?

Firstly, Our products are produced in strict quality control system and the defective rate willbe less than 0.2%. Secondly, during the guarantee period, we will send new lights with neworder for small quantity. For defective batch products, we will repair them and resend themto you or we can discuss the solution including re-call according to real situation.
